Intestinal Candidiasis Symptoms and Treatment | Gastrointestinal Tract Intestinal Candidiasis Symptoms and Treatment -> Candidiasis is an extremely common condition &#119

Candidiasis is an extremely common condition which affects anyone of any gender and any age. there are also a number of different types, for example there is genital (most common), oral (mouth), eye and a number of others. But one that is not so commonly known or talked about is intestinal candidiasis. it is caused by an overgrowth of the candida micro-organisms within the gastrointestinal tract. the difference between this and other types is that it can become very serious very quickly.

Candida organisms are normally harmless but when the body is in an unbalanced state they populate very quickly and when they outnumber the probiotic bacteria candidiasis forms. what do I mean by unbalanced state? Well basically a healthy body means your internal balance is right but when things such as bacteria levels are out of balance with other internal levels within your body your internal system is unbalanced.

Intestinal candidiasis symptoms

It is crucial to be aware what the symptoms of intestinal candidiasis are so you are able to make an accurate judgement as to whether you have the condition or not. if left untreated for too long the fungi from the infection can penetrate the intestinal walls and cause a number of problems affecting the rest of your body. the symptoms include:

Fogginess of the brain (can’t think straight)

Bloating and constipation

Feeling of intoxication after eating certain foods

Heartburn, allergies, muscle pains, vaginal infection, athlete’s foot and severe PMS

If you are currently suffering a number of these symptoms it is very likely you have a case of intestinal candidiasis. if you are only experiencing one of these you probably don’t but it’s always best to be safe.

Intestinal candidiasis treatment

When it comes to treating the condition it is best to stay away from the over the counter medications because they simply relieve the symptoms temporarily, they do not cure the problem. Candidiasis, like many infections, is caused by a number of factors and in order to cure it you must address each one of these instead of focusing on just one.

For best results an all natural approach is recommended. Natural/holistic treatments are surprisingly common for a number of conditions these days, even with the unlimited supply of harmful medications. But a lot of people shy away from them because they believe they are not as effective. But the truth is, for candidiasis at least, a natural treatment is much more effective than an over the counter one. so treat your intestinal candidiasis with an effective natural treatment today

Photo: Getty Images

Candida (thrush) is a fungus that lives in the gastrointestinal tract, the mucous membranes of the respiratory system and the female genital tract, where it normally does no harm. it only causes infection if it becomes overgrown.

Newborns are exposed to candida via vaginal childbirth which then colonizes in their intestines. If the mother has an overgrowth of candida at the time of the birth, the baby can get thrush.

Babies can also get thrush from close contact with family members. If the baby has diaper rash, it can cause candida to grow faster as the fungus likes irritated and wet skin, making it an ideal environment for it.

Candida can also infect the mouth (this is called oral thrush) and can sometimes occur in breastfeeding babies when they nurse at the breast of an infected mother.

Candida can cause infectious mastitis in mothers. If the milk ducts become blocked, the milk that remains in the tissue may become infected.

Toddlers can also get oral thrush around their fingernails if they suck their thumbs. it can occur in outbreaks in daycare centers and other childcare settings and are thought to be the result of the increased use of antibiotics.

Antibiotics disrupt the natural flora of a person, leading to overgrowth of microbes and can increase the likelihood of getting thrush.

Genital thrush can be treated with nystatin cream, an anti-fungal cream. If it is oral thrush, it can be treated with a medicine called miconazole, but you should not give this to babies less than four months old due to the risk of choking.

If the oral thrush is mild, it may not need treatment as most mild infections go away on their own.

Alternative Treatment

You can rebalance your baby’s intestinal flora with good bacteria that “eat up” the bad bacteria. Special baby probiotics can be added to the baby’s breast milk, formula, juice or water. Please check the product instructions to make sure it is suitable for your baby’s age.

Taking vitamin C (500-1,000 mgs a day), vitamin E (200-400 IUs a day) and selenium (200 mcg a day) will help reduce inflammation and improve your immune system.

3 Natural Remedies For Yeast Infection Relief | Microbial Organisms 3 Natural Remedies For Yeast Infection Relief -> The Candida albicans fungus causes yeast infection

The Candida albicans fungus causes yeast infections, which most women and some men will experience at some time in their lives. because the Candida albicans fungus thrives in a dark, moist environment, the vagina is an ideal place for it to grow. when the natural balance of organisms present in a woman’s vagina is upset, an infection may result. this may be the consequence of taking antibiotics, which can suppress the growth of protective bacteria. However, a yeast infection can be developed in other areas of the body, like under the breast, in nailbeds of the feet and hands and beneath skin folds. Men can suffer from infections, too, especially if his sex partner has one, because the infection can be passed on. However, there are 3 natural remedies for yeast infection relief.

The 3 natural remedies for infection relief include probiotics, which are live microbial organisms naturally present in the human vagina and the gastrointestinal tract. these friendly bacteria are known to suppress the Candida albicans fungus and block its growth. Studies have shown that when there are low levels of Lactobacilli, yeast infection is present. therefore, the Lactobacillus probiotic is recommended as one of the 3 natural remedies for infection relief. Available in oral supplements, they can also be found in vaginal suppositories.

One of the other 3 natural remedies for yeast infection relief is tea tree oil, an essential oil from the melaleuca tree. It has long been known to have antifungal properties and has been used with success to cure everything from acne to infections. there have been several studies and trials to determine its efficacy. they have shown tea tree oil to be as effective as topical antifungal medications. As one of 3 natural remedies for yeast infection relief, tea tree oil is usually available as an essential oil, but it can also be found in creams, ointments, lotions, and soaps. It should be used topically only and, when used full strength, may cause skin irritation. also, because it may alter hormone levels, it should not be used by pregnant women or nursing mothers.

Boric acid, a mineral salt, is another of the 3 natural remedies for infection relief. It has been shown to have mild anti-fungal properties after a study compared it to oral anti-fungal drug medications. used as a vaginal suppository, it was found to have a better rate of cure than the oral drug. Boric acid vaginal suppositories of 600 milligrams should be used once daily for fourteen days to cure a yeast infection. they are available from most compounding pharmacies or from a supplement company. As one of the 3 natural remedies for infection relief, boric acid should never be taken by mouth or for more than the recommended fourteen days. some vaginal burning and irritation may occur from the suppositories.

It is unnecessary to suffer from the itching, burning and discharge of a vaginal yeast infection or any infection. any one of the 3 natural remedies for yeast infection relief will help to kill the Candida organism that causes the discomfort.

Yeast and Candida Treatment – Treating Candida Overgrowth in Children | Gastrointestinal Yeast and Candida Treatment – Treating Candida Overgrowth in Children -> One of the most prev

One of the most prevalent organisms in the system is Acidophilus, a type of friendly bacteria that exists in the gut. This organism is significant to a healthy digestive system. However, it does not exist in a child’s system until early childhood. Children younger than this are exposed to the healthy bacteria mainly by drinking breast milk. If the mother’s system has an imbalance, such that there are fewer numbers of Acidophilus than Candida, there is a good chance that the child will develop the imbalance as well. This can start a continuous problem for the child as it develops. Children may develop symptoms early or later in life.

Common Symptoms – of the reported cases of yeast infection, women of childbearing age represent the largest group of those exposed to yeast infections. a child is more susceptible to develop a yeast infection if its mother has a yeast infection. This is especially true if the child is delivered via vaginal birth or is breastfed. Since babies and young children do not have the protection of healthy bacteria they may develop an overgrowth of Candida. Colic, diaper rash, oral thrush, gastrointestinal upset, and infections are the most common symptoms of Candida overgrowth that show up in children.

New studies show that behavioral problems in young children can also be attributed to chronic yeast infections. Young children who have Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), learning disabilities, and other behavior problems should be evaluated for yeast infections.

Recommended Medication – Antifungal medications are prescribed most often to treat yeast infections. these medications are not typically suitable for children because they contain toxins. Natural treatment options are more appropriate for young children. a pediatrician can recommend products for you to administer to your child.

A doctor may prescribe antibiotics for any number of childhood conditions. Antibiotics are prescribed to kill harmful bacteria, but may also eliminate some healthy bacteria in the process. It is recommended that antibiotic use be coupled with an antifungal medication to prevent Candida overgrowth. Nystatin is considered a safe antifungal medication for children because it does not enter the bloodstream.

Recommended Diet – when a child has an overgrowth of yeast, it is a good idea that they avoid the usual high sugar diet that children consume. Fruit juices, candy, dairy products, and junk foods are what many children consume on a regular basis. a child that has a yeast infection should avoid these foods because they can exacerbate an overgrowth of Candida. Since diet is significant for a growing child, eliminating too many foods from their diet can cause developmental problems. a nutritionist can suggest foods that both inhibit yeast overgrowth and provide the nutrients that a young child needs on a daily basis. Vitamin supplements for children are available, but you should discuss this with your doctor because some nutrients in high doses can be dangerous for children.

Rebuilding the system with healthy bacteria is essential for recovering from yeast infections. However, some probiotics are not suitable for young children. Colostrum is one product in particular that is considered appropriate for children. For babies, breast milk is the best defense against the invasion of Candida yeast. Mothers should ensure that they also follow a healthy diet that consists of plenty of vegetables.

Oh, My Candida | Epidemic Proportions Oh, My Candida -> While the title of this articl

While the title of this article is a play on the first few words of an old Tony Orlando song, Candida is no laughing matter. Candida albicans is a common, fungal form of yeast that lives in a moist, warm environment. It’s believed that Candida is present in at least 90% of people. It grows most commonly on the mucus membranes of the gastrointestinal and genitourinary tracts in our bodies. However, it can grow almost anywhere in your body and cause problems. For most people a small amount of these critters does not pose any problem. There are certain things that can trigger this yeast to multiply and overtake good bacteria and that causes problems. Intake of adequate probiotics to balance the intestinal flora (good bacteria) is essential. The goal is to have many more of the good guys than the bad in our systems.

Candida is a yeast overgrowth that is reaching epidemic proportions and is associated with a wide range of illnesses and conditions. Most women have experienced the discomfort of a vaginal yeast infection. A yeast overgrowth or infection is precisely what Candida is. It is the same yeast that causes thrush in infants. It can be responsible for a whole host of symptoms that can easily be misdiagnosed or overlooked. here are some of the symptoms that Candida can produce:

General, unexplained fatigue, food cravings (particularly sugar cravings), cold hands and feet, joint pain, heartburn, feeling spacey, depression, poor memory, tingling, bloating, constipation, crying, anxiety, alcohol intolerance, chemical sensitivities, athlete’s foot, sensitivity to bright lights, blood sugar imbalances, increased allergy symptoms like hives, food allergies, hay fever and menstrual irregularities. Candida can also grow through the intestinal wall causing leaky gut syndrome to develop. this, of course, allows undigested food particles to enter the blood stream and cause inflammation and allergic reaction.

Be aware that even though it is commonly known as a yeast infection and seems to be more common in women, men can have Candida as well. It does not discriminate Yeast infections can occur anywhere in the body and affect the skin, mouth, digestive tract, esophagus and urinary tract. many health experts are now researching the possible connection between Candida and cancer.

So what causes Candida to develop? The primary cause of imbalances in gut flora (the bacteria that populates your digestive system) is antibiotic use. Antibiotics kill bacteria – and they don’t discriminate – they kill the good and the bad, thus causing the imbalance. other drugs can also lead to a Candida problem such as steroids and oral contraceptives.

Excessive consumption of alcohol, sugar and white, refined carbohydrate foods also trigger a spike in yeast growth. Yeast feeds on sugar. In order to activate the yeast in any recipe, you feed it some sugar. And all white flour, processed foods like white bread, pasta, rice, etc. are very quickly converted to sugar when you eat them. Yeasts also create alcohol from sugar one study actually proved that patients with Candida overgrowth became intoxicated after a high carb meal this infection also affects people with weakened immune systems. other causes include emotional and mental stress.

I believe this type of yeast overgrowth has reached epidemic proportions because of the typical, refined carbohydrate and processed food diet and high stress lifestyle that is so common today. Good nutrition is vital and this is a great example of why.

Cleaning up your diet and eating a nutrient-dense, whole foods diet is the first step to improving your health. It is also the most critical change you can make.
