Girlfriend had a vaginal bacterial infection, have i caught it?
i have reddish irritation and maybe some red spots(not bumps) at the end of my penis. My girlfriend recently got antibiotics for a bacterial vaginal infection though she isn’t sure it went away. It doesn’t look like online pictures of warts or herpes. I’m worried it’s chlamydia or some bacterial infection any clues?

answers:
It is not possible for you to have Bacterial Vaginosis because you do not have a vagina.
Make sure she had an std check while getting tested for BV (which by the way isnt an std because it is not transmitted between partners)

Daniel asks…
Is it safe to have sex if I have a vaginal bacterial infection?
I started taking Loestrin 24 birth control about a month ago and I started to have vaginal itching and thick yellow discharge. I applied some cream and the itching is gone, but i still have yellow discharge. I was told it might be a bacterial infection, but I’m not sure. Is it still safe to have sex?

answers:
Just hold off on sex until this is gone. Eat some plain yogurt for 2 weeks and get some probiotic capsules to take. Don’t get the antibiotics, let your body fight it off naturally. Use the cream if it helps reduce itchiness though, that can’t hurt.

Mary asks…
Can a vaginal bacterial infection could be preventing me from getting pregnant?
Me and my husband have been ttc for about a year now but I found out recently that I have a bacterial infection. I read that sometimes bacterial infections have no symptoms in women. Could this be the reason why I am not pregnant yet?

answers:
Very possible. A hundred plus things have to be just right in order to get pregnant. The pH has to be just right as well, which bacteria could change.

Laura asks…
If your girlfriend has a vaginal bacterial infection can the man catch it?
If my girlfriend has a bacterial infection and I have sex with her not aware of it. Is it possible for me to catch the same infection, like with yeast?

answers:
The bacterial infection may cause urethritis in the male, but generally doesn’t cause problems in men. However, you may continue to transmit it back to her and she may continue to have bacterial vaginitis. It’s best for both of you to get treated at the same time, abstain from sex without a barrier until the doctor gives her a clean bill of health

Chris asks…
What can be underlying cause of vaginal bacterial infection?
I’ve had one for nearly a year. I’ve been on 13 medications. Nothing has worked! The doctor has confirmed that it’s a bacterial infection, but nothing is curing it. Could there be some larger disorder that this is a symptom of? I’m at a loss for why it won’t go away.

answers:
You should always wipe front to back to not contaminate your vagina with fecal material.
If you wear thong underwear you increase your change of a bacterial infection.
You can try taking probiotics.
I would also recommend you get a second opinion.
